Your 401k called. It wants attention.
Somewhere out there is a retirement plan set up years ago, filed away, and never opened since. Statistically, it might be yours. We'll find out, score it, and get it working again.
The problem (and it's a common one)
Your 401k was built for the company you were five years ago. Assets have grown since then, but chances are the fees haven't moved, the fund lineup hasn't moved, and nobody's opened the file. Add in the paperwork almost no one keeps up with (an investment policy statement, an annual committee meeting, non-discrimination testing) and most plans are exposed in two ways at once: what they cost you, and whether they're even being run the way the law says they should be. Neither shows up until someone asks.
Learn more about usWhat we actually do
Inclusive Advisors is the retirement plan side of Inclusive Insurance Solutions. We're a fiduciary, which isn't a word we throw around for effect. It means we're on the hook to act in your and your employees' best interest, full stop, not the carrier's.
We review and benchmark your plan.
Real numbers on your funds, fees, and provider, checked against independent scoring tools, so you know exactly where you stand instead of guessing.
We design the plan itself.
Safe harbor matching, cash balance plans, and vesting strategies that keep good people around and get owners a better tax outcome.
We handle the compliance nobody wants to touch.
Investment policy statements, annual committee meetings, the paper trail that saves you if the market drops and someone starts asking questions.
We keep your employees in the loop.
Ongoing education and enrollment support, not a single slideshow they forget by Friday.
A retirement plan is only as good as the last time someone actually looked at it.
Get your plan scorecard
Want to know where you actually stand? We'll score your plan nationally, against your industry, and against companies your size, using the same data your provider already reports. Takes a few minutes. Costs nothing. No catch.
Get My Plan's ScoreWhat's it actually costing you to not look at your plan?
A lot of employers set up a 401k years ago and haven't touched it since. That usually means one of two things: you're out of compliance, or you're overpaying in fees nobody told you about. Either way, it's worth twenty minutes to find out which.

A retirement plan is only as good as the last time someone actually looked at it.
We review it, design it, and stay on it, so you're not quietly carrying a liability you don't even know about.
401k review and benchmarking
We pull your plan's real performance data and stack it against independent benchmarks (Morningstar, FI 360, and others) across active and passive funds, sector by sector, fee by fee. You'll see, in plain terms, whether your funds are earning their keep, what you're actually paying versus the market, and where a cheaper or better option is sitting right there. If your plan hasn't been reviewed in a few years, it's probably still priced for the company you were when you signed up, not the one you run now.
Plan design and safe harbor strategy
A well-designed plan does two things: keeps you out of trouble with the IRS, and makes your business a place people want to work. We help you build:
- Safe harbor matching (dollar-for-dollar or tiered), which keeps owners and highly compensated employees from getting hit with corrective distributions when lower-paid employees don't participate enough
- Cash balance plans, for owners who want to shelter more income than a standard 401k allows
- Vesting schedules that reward people for sticking around, without giving away more than you have to
Compliance, actually handled
Most employer plans have never had an investment policy statement, the document that spells out how the plan's funds get picked and watched, and most have never held the annual investment committee meeting that's technically required to govern it. Nobody notices until an employee loses money in a downturn and starts asking why. We put both in place and keep them current: IPS drafting, annual committee meetings, ERISA compliance checks, non-discrimination testing.
Financial wellness for your team
Employees who actually understand their plan use it better and stick around longer. We run enrollment education and ongoing financial wellness check-ins, not one onboarding session everyone forgets by year two.
Your plan, scored
Every review starts the same way: a scorecard. Your plan's rating nationally, in your industry, against your asset range, and by participant outcomes, built from the same data your current provider already files. It's the fastest way to see where you stand before you decide anything.
Your advisor should work for you. Not the carrier.
Most retirement plans get sold once and never touched again. An advisor sets it up, collects the commission, and disappears. Or worse, you get routed to a call center or a robo-advisor platform where you set up your own payroll integration and never talk to an actual human. Either way, nobody's watching your plan, or your liability, once the ink dries.
Inclusive Advisors exists to be the exception. We're an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) practice, meaning we operate under the fiduciary standard: legally required to act in your and your employees' best interest, not just sell whatever's on the shelf. That's not a tagline. It's how we actually work. We show up for the annual investment committee meeting. We keep your investment policy statement current. We benchmark your funds against the market instead of assuming last year's picks still hold up.
Inclusive Advisors is part of Inclusive Insurance Solutions, led by John Nielsen, an AIF-designated advisor who's spent his career on the employer side of benefits and retirement planning. He's not building plans to check a box. He's building them to actually work, for you as the owner and for the people on your payroll.
